“LIVING TOGETHER AT FAIRMONT PUBLIC SCHOOL”
IT IS EXPECTED THAT EACH CHILD AND EACH ADULT AT FAIRMONT PUBLIC SCHOOL WILL RESPECT THE RIGHTS OF ALL OTHER PEOPLE INVOLVED IN OUR SCHOOL.
EACH OF US HAS THE RIGHT TO:
- Come to school and feel safe.
- Be supported in the school setting.
- Be involved in appropriate learning experiences in the school – without interference.
- Participate in activities with our friends.
- Seek assistance when we have problems
WITH THESE RIGHTS IN MIND:
- No individual will be permitted to physically hurt or intimidate others.
- No individual will be allowed to interfere with the learning of others.
- No one will be allowed to threaten or embarrass someone else.
- No student may possess or be under the influence of alcohol, illegal drugs, or unless the student is a medical cannabis user, cannabis.
ALL MEMBERS OF THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY MUST:
- Respect the need of others to work in an environment that is conducive to learning and teaching, including by ensuring that cell phones and other personal mobile devices are used only during instructional time (as directed by an educator), for health and medical purposes and/or to support special education needs.
Our goal is to maintain a safe learning environment that is free from bullying, encourages acceptance, promotes participation, models both respect and empathy, and celebrates success.
This Code of Conduct is based on the policies of the TVDSB Safe School Act and Dress Code Policy. The Fairmont Public School Council, students, staff and parents have been involved in creating this document.
